Dormant

Dormant do they lie in wait

till the killing frost slowly abates

for only then may they arise

to seek anew adoring eyes

Amidst the ruin and decay

they lie hidden safely away

until the healing of the spring

when likewise spirits surely sing

Thrusting through the silt of past lives

the will to live shall make us strive

despite hardships we all endure

life's cycles remain ever pure

Fader I am so glad for sharing your poetry here too. I missed your voice around. This poem it's written so well.

You use wonderful expressions like these:

for only then may they arise

to seek anew adoring eyes

until the healing of the spring

when likewise spirits surely sing

the will to live shall make us strive

All those sounds so deep and original. And ending part so much powerful too.

Thank you so much for sharing my friend

An inspirational poem, Fader. I like how you tie in nature's endurance and the life-cycle with perseverance, where you write,

Thrusting through the silt of past lives

the will to live shall make us strive

despite hardships we all endure ...

Alek picked out some pretty good lines in this one; they caught my eye, too, and I agree with her. Thanks for sharing.

Hello fader,

Long time no see and what a wonderful poem you come back with! I love the way your poem offers hope, new beginning and healing, in the images of spring:

Another striking image is:

"slits of past lives".

Yes, you're right - the natural cycle points to us possibilities of healing and starting anew:

"despite hardships we all endure

life's cycles remain ever pure"

I've enjoyed this very much.

Thanks all! Its nice to be posting here! I have missed you all! I have not wriiten until lately for a long time. I wrote this metaphorically using nature as the human spirit. When the spirit is wounded and lies dormant it waits till something comes along to heal it. It usually just takes time. It also tends to happen again and again, thats life. cyclical. icon_biggrin.png

Hello again fader,

How well you express the dilemma, which we face from time to time but you hold out hope and encouragement!:

As I too struggle with work, writing and loss of inspiration, I sympathize and hope that your Muse will return.
