Thirty Days #30 Poem a Day

Thirty Days

Thirty days
I’ve sat at the keyboard
attempting to put my voice on paper,
to write something,
anything, to be heard.

My shout translates to a whimper
and fingers become mute
while letters form unintelligible words
and nonsense dribbles from my digits.

Still, I continue to strike at keys
unwilling to relinquish
my emancipation.

Congratulations!

I like that "fingers become mute" bit. Poetry, now read, silenced by not-writing instead of silenced by not-speaking (when poetry was mainly oral). Neat.

Tuckered out now?

A nice work to sum it up. You seem not to go long between your own pieces, anyway. I think the challenge of the committment, itself, helps to make this difficult, at times. You've done quite well and I am impressed that you completed it.

But, HURRAH! Back to that which moves you, yes?
