Gatekeeper
Third ounce of whisky releases a day's trouble sleep comes more quickly with dreams perhaps of Ireland or crags and moors of Scotland 051813 / 0030 Quote from the black desert

Tinker
Hi Gatekeeper, I really like this tanka. It is just real and easy and unthreatening. I'm not much on alcholol but I do like a glass of wine on occassion and though I could never gag down a scotch, bourbon or whiskey I can still relate to your images with a comfortable acceptance. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com

dcmarti1
Dreams of Ireland & Scotland.....Would that mean nightmares of Tennessee for American Whisky? :) Using the count of "third" gives this, to me, a bit of a sense of danger.
Gatekeeper
Thanks for the comments Tinker - Perhaps you have been exposed only to not very good scotch. There is a very wide range available these days. An acquired taste some say - perhaps so. I find wine to be rather unappealing more often than not. To each . . . dc - Nightmares of Tennessee? - could be, since I am not a fan of American whiskey and spent some military time along the K/T border in the late 60's. Why third ounce? First didn't seem to carry any weight. Second would have been okay except I wanted only one syllable and fourth seemed too many. moonqueen
I love your little verses! How could four be too many? Unless you don't care how you feel, in the morning. mq
