After reading The Lonely Londoners

Quick, quickly, quicker
that dashing crowd of crisp leaf -
the bus stop empty, but

cars kissing bumper to bumper
all linger one way and I strolling along
passing the stasis, unpinned

a butterfly fluttering over Hyde Park,
calypso dreamin'
by coral seas through cinnamon trees.

calypso, coral

seas, trees

Loved those. Ironic & almost whimsical: passing the stasis. "Cars kissing", when the drivers would probably beat up the other drivers in all that traffic.

Not strict haiku form, but very haiku-like.

Hyde Park? Mmmmmm, would love to see it.

Lovely the way this juxtaposes the old home and the new. I had to Google the book, and it looks most interesting.

Worth a read...if you find time...a short book!
