badger11
A pumpkin hangs from our fruit tree: no nose, a toothless grin, no ears. The pumkin head kindles no fears for me. I plug its eyes with plums. (from Tink's daily prompt list)
Tinker
Haha Badge, This was fun to read. Very cleverly written. I'm sure from the "orange" prompt. Your first image very surprising I can imagine a smile on your face while you played with words. Much to appreciate in this very small poem, the surprise, the syntax of L2 (the grin perfectly framed), the end rhyme linking the two couplets and the assonance in the last line. You know your craft and use it effectively even in play. Thanks for playing with me. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com

tonyv
What a nice work a prompt can incite. It has that sense of home. The pumpkin head might engender a fleeting fear ... in a stranger, but to a familiar "it kindles no fears." He "plugs its eyes with plums." badger11
Thanks Tony. The use of prompts can free the writer from the usual room. May work on this further - certainly will follow the thread Tink's created. best Phil
