Can You Hear Them?

From far away,
the clanging of muted church bells.
From far away,
a soft vibration in the sway
of the wind. The satiant sound swells
with lost songs of singing angels
from far away.

Another nice example of a form that uses one of my favorite devices when used well: repetition.

Thanks Tony,  It wasn't the form I was challenged by, the prompt "singing angels" had me scratching my head.   How do I use that without sounding schwarmy?  Actually I just read a prose poem over at WDC that is just awesome encompassing all spirituality without conjuring angels with wings.

I learned a new form today. Aside from the refrain, I like L4 that is carried to L5 the part "of the wind". For me, it carried the entire poem.

Thanks Joel,  me too, that was my favorite image.  The refrain really doesn't really resound with me but it says what it has to say.. I keep trying to think of a substitute.
