Through the Blue

take me through the blue
through the water
through the purity
up into the realm of consciousness
that watery gift
that we received from Buddha and Krishna and Christ
and let me discover my peace and solace there
because i am deserving of it
entitled to understand these mysteries
from the moment that my soul chose to incarnate
accepting life and death
and all of the complexities that come with
being aware of one's transience

i am a part of this grandeur
despite my fragility and lack of universal longevity
the light makes me pure and powerful
despite whatever inconsequential doubts i may have about it

a child of the universe
haphazardly negotiating my way through three dimensions
this strange place stained by ego, pain, confusion and conflict

but still i continue running
gratefully breathing in the air
watching the sun become diamonds through dewdrops
still i trust what lies deep within my heart
even though
at times
its vulnerabilities may seem to be my impending destruction

and to my fellow spirits i say
see this for what it is
something very pure, beautiful and mysterious
something transcendent
of which you are an aspect

see the changing circles within existence
dance through them holding duality’s hand
always remembering
who you really are
and where you are going
