Tibetan Verse

The Gzha is Tibetan folk poetry, a dance song.    yak-milking.0.jpg

The elements of the Gzha are:

  1. syllabic, written in 6 syllable lines, usually trochaic. The form ends with a spondee SS.
  2. written in 4 lines.
  3. unrhymed but parallelism is expected. The poem often employs internal consonance and assonance.
