Aleksandra
Ok here it is the topic what I mean it is useful. Because we are like a family here and often so much worried when somebody is missing long time. Here we can say if we are busy with doing something and not be able for being on the board. So we can be a little bit informed what is going on with us. Thank you. tilsover
I've been visiting here now and then just to read some poetry, but I haven't been very creative lately, so I've been kind of quiet. But I'm still around. Peace, Til Sover

tilsover
Hi again! Yes, the photo is me. I was really bundled up that morning -- the temperature was minus 26 degrees Fahrenheit. It's still very much winter here, but should start warming in a few days. As far as photos go, I'm looking at yours. Now that's something! --Til Sover

tilsover
Hi Lake, I am about 80 miles south of I-Falls, where 40-below zero was reported yesterday morning. Winter is really hanging on, here. This mornings temp read 24-below at my place and I heard one report of 32-below down in Zim/Saks country 40 miles south of here. These cold days could make an interesting poem for someone, but my brain is too frozen! Incidently, "Land of Sky Blue Waters" was once the logo for Hamms brewing company. Their ad featured a lake in northern MN, but I can't recall which one right now. There are quite a few lakes around here. Hoping to thaw, tilsover

Tinker
Hi, I am not away but I am busy at the Connection right now. I am committing a couple of hours or more a day to cleaning up the site. A word of explaination. We all know about the invasion of the spybots and Frank and Badger's valient efforts in cleaning up all of the offensive porn posts from the site. In order for the spammers to do their damage they had to register as members. They did this by the thousands. As of last Tuesday there were over 59300 members. This clogs up the system and slows down the index page and log on to the point of timing out. Only an administrator may delete or block a member. Until Tuesday only Gunnar who has moved on to other projects held that power. Blogjamb contacted Gunnar and got him to down load software that slowed down the spammers considerably and he also asked that the power of administrator be shared with a few others so the deleting of bogus members could be done. I think Gunnar looked at the list of moderators and chose the last 3 on the list to be administrators. That was Frank Gibbard, Blogjamb and me. A member can only be deleted one at a time. It takes me about an hour to delete 150 bogus members. So you can see this is a tedious and time consuming process. So until we have the Connection a little more under control, I will be spending a lot of my time working over there. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
Lake
Hi Tinker, Thank you for letting us know the progress over at the Connection. Those spammers are a real headache. Glad to know that some of you are granted the power to clean up the site. Hope you won't work overtime. Best, Lake

Tinker
It is done, Gunnar gave us a password to a Administrator Tool that allowed us to finish off 54000 of those invaders in 2 days. I think seeing us putting hours and hours into the tedious manual delete made him feel guilty and he finally came through. The place still has invaders because it isn't a site that requires approval but they are minor nats that are just pesky and we can dump them quickly. The site is a 1000 times faster, you can actually log onto the Index page in less than a second. Before, my home computer would time out if I tried to go to the Index page. Amazing the difference. But now I have more time to come here. So I am back, much sooner than I thought I could be. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com

I read but cannot write. I listen to music -- that usually works -- but now does not. The other night I was lonely and bored. Tried to write, but could not. I decided to try a change of scenery and went to my favorite cafe. Still, nothing. I had not planned it, but I ended up at the small bookstore across the street ... in the poetry section. Seamus Heaney's 2006 collection District and Circle caught my eye and went home with me. I started to read and immediately became inspired, but I still haven't been able to write anything for days, this time albeit for additional psychological reasons: could I ever even write anything nearly as good as Heaney's verse? I don't know the solution to my predicament. For me, consumption is not the answer. Some would say work is the answer, but I don't want to look there. Based on my own past observations, activity on the board(s) seems to come in spurts, even for me. The nice thing is that the board is here ... for our enjoyment. I will now make a topic on Seamus Heaney in Favorite Poets. Tinker
Victor, I hope you are feeling better, your voice has been missed here. As for me, I have been lurking but it is tax season in the US and I own a business which means complicated and time consuming tax prep which I HATE. So I set goals with rewards and punishments to force myself to get the work done in a timely manner so my accountant can do the final prep. One of my punishments is to limit my fun time on the computer until certain tasks are done.... hence, I haven't been writing much poetry or posting responses here lately... BUT Yeah!, on Tuesday I got all my paper work to my accountant and I am free to write and respond as much as I like. (so much for excuses) But now my husband, who has been fishing in Mexico, is coming home. He is driving with a friend up to southern California where his friend will drop him off at our son's. So I am driving down to my son's (8 hour drive) to pick him up. We will spend a couple of days with the grandkids then drive home, so I won't be able to play catch up on responding to the wonderful poetry I have been reading here until next week. See you then. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
