A TENDER WEAPON

A TENDER WEAPON

Beneath the smile which often sits

Upon the lover's waiting lips

There lies a truth which can't be found

Within the chambers' secret sound

Beholden there with much aplomb

To hold the dream as it unfolds

There lives a message from the grave

Of one whose name is lost...to save

This tender weapon of the heart

Now bids the lovers never part

Where lies the truth of greater worth

This love was never meant for earth

love can be the ultimate weapon be it good or bad.
nice little poem.

Pinhead

"Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends.

There is a secret song at the center of the world, Joey, and its sound is like razors through flesh."

Joey

"I don't believe you."

Pinhead

"Oh come, you can hear its faint echo right now. I'm here to turn up the volume.

To press the stinking face of humanity into the dark blood of its own secret heart."

"There's a starving beast inside my chest
playing with me until he's bored
Then, slowly burying his tusks in my flesh
crawling his way out he rips open old wounds

When I reach for the knife placed on the bedside table
its blade reflects my determined face
to plant it in my chest
and carve a hole so deep it snaps my veins

Hollow me out, I want to feel empty"
-- "Being Able To Feel Nothing" by Oathbreaker

"Sky turns to a deeper grey

the sun fades by the moon

hell's come from the distant hills

tortures dreams of the doomed

and they pray, yet they prey

and they pray, still they prey"

Wow, I'm sorry I missed this when it was first posted. I hope Miss Sharon, you haven't left us. This is a skillfully written Couplets Sonnet in iambic tetrameter. It is tight and somber and it reminds me a little of an old English Ballad, The Unquiet Grave from the 1400s.

This a little late Welcome and I hope you check in again and share more of your work.

Miss Sharon

The last line sums up much of much love perfectly. There's unconditional love, and then for many (or maybe even most of us), there's in love with love.
