dcmarti1
Snapping angrily with the breeze, Her garden flags keep perfect time In check, harkening to a clime Of new found buds on ancient trees. "Their bayous just will not suffice! Their magnolias are not as sweet As fallen blossoms in the street, Where cherries paid the basin's price!" No sad take-outs with one table. No corner stands with rent-a-bikes. No city, one-bed salary. Her former life is now fable. No where to go when passion strikes Is now the greatest injury. (Reflections on the 4/25/1993 LGBT march in DC. I was lucky to get the same syllables per line: no, it's NOT perfectly metrical. I also used her instead of him or me.) Juris Thank you, as always, for reading. DC was my mainly rhyming period, so I wanted to have a "somewhat" unique pattern. Frustration is an accurate reading. 🙂 Just FYI: the basin is the Tidal Basin near the Jefferson Memorial and the cherry trees. BTW, the first wedding I was asked to officiate was held there! Yes, there is that frustration, and I get it! I only have one thing to offer, and that is that everything will be okay.
