The original golden langur

Viewed in the verdant fastnesses of India or Bhutan

A golden langur may look like some sere gentleman,

In hairy old age if through an anthropomorphic eye

Sheltering beneath the leaves’ umbrella held up high.

A coat of fur that gifts his name is of a golden yellow

But whiskers make leaf monkeys ape an olden fellow

It'll range from upper jungle top to the forest ground

A riverine, it may often by the water’s edge be found.

Or on all fours in evergreen savannah or forest bowers

Browse fruits and leaves and chew the sweetest flowers.

Hello Frank,

How well you describe the habitat and the habits of this endangered creature! I wish I could give such a poetical response when asked why did I adopt this "sere gentleman" as a pseudonym.

I enjoyed this very much.

Thank you

Nice tribute, Frank! I liked your use of anthropomorphic -- had to look that one up! -- and it made me smile.
