Haunting Refrains

Sorted by heart and memory

Interlaced threads of history.

Stashed away deep, most solemnly

No longer allowed a part of me.

Balanced and weighed against my heart

Treasuring joyful, as forlorn departs.

A chosen few always remain

Haunting with their saddest refrains.

fader you are catching the sound of poetry so well. I love how this sounds. The expressions are so alive and deep.

Thank you so much for sharing my friend.

Hi fader,

Your beautifully worded poem has a sense of emerging from the dark ("forlorn departs") into a more peaceful, perhaps reconciled moment:

"sorted by heart and memory

interlaced threads of history"

is a fabulous opening!

You convey a catharsis-like coming to terms with the pain of the past and I love the way you close the poem with a sense that you still treasure the memories and moments, despite their "saddest refrain" .

Thank you,
