Random Chance

I was enthralled with a friend’s

friend’s tale of watching a movie

21 times and then meeting his

equivalent heading back to

the UK and no worries

about orderly queues

or other straight

lines hopped

on a plane

followed

her home And met her boyfriend

Lost in England without a clue

re-evaluating his structure

wanting to be normal

not touched by the

divine shaken

and mourned

A story from a long time ago

harder to do these days

but I don’t deserve

second best

in my own

life None

of us do

Rather we want to explode

take charge of our humble

service uniquely manifest

read clearly concisely pure

of the deeds we have done

what we have added to the

experience of the One not

left lost alone desperate

But will find the missing

word written on heaven’s

scroll our contract writ

in blood bone breath

on what it means

to be human.

David W. Parsley

hi doc, if I may: the title and opening lines threw me off. My only other note is the "___" in the final stanza. In every other way this piece grabs me where I breathe and think and feel.

Nice work

I'm sure in a parallel universe all ambitions are fufilled and not humbled :-8)

Well it's some sort of consolation

An unusual presentation that works on different levels. Could almost have been written by a flight attendant/crew member. “Heading back to the UK and no worries about orderly queues or other straight lines” made me smile. The overall impression I'm left with though, is that chance and practicality have a certain balance/relationship and that some questions perhaps are destined only to be answered after death. Pure/of the deeds we have done a stark reminder that in the end, it matters not what we have, but what we have done. It all comes down to our actions, accountability.
