Cost of Cutting

The dedicated staff laboured cutting,

cutting cloth to suit, cutting corners of

sleeves, collars; sewing machining at

cheap cotton clothing for foreigners.

Their bosses busy paring, paring away

not really caring about consequences.

Workers sweating in the sweat shop

swept to oblivion owing to a careless

cost cutting, the death factory owners

they’re sweating now not so oblivious

obviously and how; the products sold

in their trade name carry black codes

for telling a fatal price, endorsements

spelling worldwide its mark of shame.
