He was the ace prestidigitator

manipulating doves and such,

did levitation of female bodies,

disappearing them at his touch.

Now their last appearance, she

one-time glamorous assistant

and present love, places on the

box a pair of white magic gloves.

It leaves me wanting more and even wondering. I like it, but I am not sure I truly "get" it. But the imagery is clear.

Frank, I actually love the imagery, but I tend to dig too deep, sometimes, looking for that metaphor. I have come to the conclusion that the first four lines, being past tense, describe what this man and woman had together, I assume he passed away and the last four lines are dedicated to their 'last appearance' together, obviously at the funeral and the gloves are her tribute to him, her personal good-bye.

Regardless, I love this one. The mystery could not be more appropriate, I guess.
