The rowdy mystery

of personality

The cute choises

many voices

( This is about a party I had with music being played.

I would let each person pick a song

from one of the many cd's I have

and then wait for their turn

and then we sit there respectfully

and listen to the songs

while drinking and smoking)

oh crap, just deleted the rest of the poem....

oh well....another one bites the dust icon_lol.gif

Jonathan,

I like all your recent poems, but this is something very different and notable from you. It's highly lyrical. The layout and musicality of it are reminiscent of ARS POETICA by Archibald MacLeish. At the end of his poem, MacLeish says,

A poem should not mean

But be.

Your poem is in the same spirit. Wonderful work!

hi Jonathan, i have to admit i didn't know the direction you were heading in with this poem. i enjoyed its colorfulness of the nightlife from your perspective. the title works well with you poem here and is a good metaphor. i had to read your comments and tony's comments to better understand this write. i am becoming a big fan of your poetry. you think clearly with your poems. your poems are down to earth.

Thank you for the open invitation, Jonathan. I'll make an effort to get up there at some point.icon_smile.gif I'm just such a turtle, and it takes me a long time to accomplish anything.icon_redface.gif But Marlboro is actually quite convenient for me. It's easy to get to, right up I495 to Rte 20 -- I know that strip right off the highway, and I have also been over to the Real Estate Marketplace (near Papa Gino's, further in the town itself). I like the area. Thank you for your generous offer.

Jonathan. To be sincere, when I read for first time this poem - I didn't like a lot. Somehow it wasn't for my taste . Then I went back, and I got another opinion.

I can express my thoughts about this poem right over your verses:

always a decision !

personal opinion......

of right and of wrong

I must say about the beginning of this poem. It is so powerful and so tactical. It have a power, deepness, rhyme.
