Now have I come to sing my song,

to lift my voice and sing for you,

in the dark hour, at a quiet place;

for now is a time of stillness,

when peace fills slowly the fitful heart

and falls with a hush on the fretful brain.

Lie without fear in this sweet-smelling grass

and open your ear to my song.

Drown your sorrows in drink, by all means, but the real sorrows can swim

Love the alliterative F.

when peace fills slowly the fitful heart

and falls with a hush on the fretful brain.

Move over, Andrew Marvell. There's a non-rhyming sheriff in town. :)

Gentle, soothing and universal: Bearing in mind your location, there's a certain oriental subtlety about it. Much enjoyed.

BTW. L3 "our" or "hour" ?

Oops! "Hour" it is. Many thanks.
