Emergence

The grey morning light
Gently pulling me from my bed.
And then,
Standing at the window,
Sweeping back the curtain,
And looking at where I lay last night.
Crumpled sheets and blankets cast away;
The discarded spacesuit of my sleep
That wrapped up my soul and took it
Deep into the universe -
Where I temporarily floated above
The entire continuum of my life,
Remembering.
But now I am back and hearing birds,
And smelling cooking bacon in the early air;
Looking at a half concealed mountain,
And blooming wisteria,
Running cold fingers
Through ruffled, greying hair.

To receive love, you have to give it...

Love the juxtaposition of blooming wisteria and grey hair.

"Spacesuit of my sleep". LOVE it!

Emotive piece.

i can't get enough of your work. i am not stalking your poems, i promise. there is just not enough.

The discarded spacesuit of my sleep
That wrapped up my soul and took it
Deep into the universe -
Where I temporarily floated above
The entire continuum of my life,
Remembering.
