Our lives are poems

in hushed tones screaming

Do you think Japanese parents

lied to their children with tales

of the Baku who stole nightmares?

Why would they do that?

War for profit Death by Greed

Where are the Dream Stealers now?

And she said I don’t know if it’s OK

To be happy Child Child Child

Always OK on your Deathbed

In your Sickness In your Struggle

In your Fear In your Joy

Always OK Always OK

Life is what happens

Not more Not Less

Awake Awake Awake

Hush now

Why let them take

what is Yours?

Love Love Love

Nothing More

Nothing Less.

I often feel beaten up after reading you, Dr.

But I suspect you intended that.

Dr. Con,

Some of the repetition of individual words reminded me of someone trying to calm themselves down, in a mantra-like fashion. It was quite effective!

Juris, I know I've said this to you before, but this is one of your best. I love its lyrical qualities, repetition, and brevity.

... Life is what happens

Not more Not Less ...

is the epiphany, and it's okay to be happy.

In answer to the last stanza, I would say forgiveness is right up there with love, but really that's no answer. Forgiveness is part of love by default.
