Benjamin
To God and Ancient Aliens I fear for human common sense If you could alter DNA Take self aggrandisement away And boost the bits for empathy Oh what a joy the Earth would be

tonyv
Geoff, this would be a selfless request to ask of the tea! The poem seems like it should be dedicated to Narcissus, or even to some specific natural person, but it may as well be dedicated to much of society, to today's generation. Benjamin
I'd watched a late night documentary on Socrates but couldn't bring myself to elaborate on ideas that we have yet to catch up with. It seems "happily ever after" and "eternal love" are still the desiderata of each present generation. "Fat chance!" say the older and more curmudgeonly. Ah me! Will it be ever thus?
