Tinker
Tanka #6 With the silent dawn fog rides in on summer's surf. Shoring memories of your caress on my skin. Reminder of what once was. ~~Judi Van Gorder Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
tonyv
I know nothing about tanka, but its purported characteristics notwithstanding, this is expressive and lovely, lyrical. dcmarti1
Evocative, but it made me wistful, almost sad.
Tinker
Thanks Tony and Marti. Tanka is the form originally used as love notes between Japanese nobles. I wanted this poem, which by the way has been entered into "Tanka" contest, to honor the original form but be different from the other entries. It was meant to be "wistful, almost sad". Thank for recognizing that Marti. ~~Tink PS. I won.
