Poetry Magnum Opus

Moved by a poem

To agitate the eyes, drive them fast

first here and then over ... there.

Between the distance of a millisecond,

was there consciousness of Newton's law?

To be conscious,

does it require conscience?

or science?

is there a con and a pro?

or a quid pro quo?

Is there a poem incapable

of moving a reader,

their eyes,

by a single letter?

or space?

This poem has traded

its abstract existence

for death.

Ah Joel, this puts a lot of thinking in my mind. I need some time to digest before answering all the questions. icon_smile.gif

Thanks, Lake and Alek. I decided to split the S2 into two stanzas to avoid the visual heaviness.

Art and the metaphysical conjoin in this inspiring piece. I especially enjoyed this part:

To be conscious,

does it require conscience?

or science?

is there a con and a pro?

or a quid pro quo?

Is there a poem incapable

of moving a reader ...?

I like how you wrap it up with a clear statement, an answer of sorts.

Tony, that's the playful part where I just played on meaning and words.
