Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

The wind holds its breath
at the winter white solemnity
that stretches over the landscape.
A hush echoes
in the hollows heralding
a moment of grace.
The birth of hope and light,
centuries before,
is rejoined
on this starlit crystal night.

"rejoined"

I am not exactly orthodox, but this is perfectly liturgical. Time is circular, and sacred. Beautiful.

This poem captivates in a strikingly non-literal way. As crafted, it appeals to both spiritual and secular interests and has a sense of timelessness.

You  definitely create a strong atmosphere of wispy awe and grace. I felt it!
