  1. Here Is California's biggest threat, FIRE. Packed a bag and headed to the office. So far the fire is east of my home, I won't be going to radiation therapy today, the cancer center may have burned down, I can't tell yet, The Inn and restaurant a half a block away from the center has burned to the ground. Even if it isn't burned there is no way to get there. Pretty scary stuff. Santa Rosa is my escape route in the event there is fire here on the mountain but Santa Rosa has 35,000 acres on fire including residential areas. I anticipate a lot of calls, I insure many homes there. Yikes, I still have the ocean 10 minutes away so there is always a way out, I'm a good swimmer. Stay safe out there. ~~Tink

    Call From Concert

crouched in dark rapid fire, screams and shouts phone home, "I love you" Daughter-in-law's sister attended Route 91 Country Concert with girlfriends. Girls weekend of fun in Vegas which is about a 3 hour drive from where they live in California. She is traumatized but now safe, their friend shot in the leg. She actually called my daughter-in-law while gunfire was still happening. She was hysterical and Sara got her to calm herself and stay covered. Someone in front of her was lying in blood. Horrific experience. My daughter-in-law called me before the news broke on TV or internet. We were both scanning the news channels and internet while talking and it was a good 5 minutes before anything showed up. She had already spoken by phone to my son who had left that afternoon for Tahoe, Nevada, 4 hours north, for a Western Region Police Conference this week. He at that time had heard nothing. He, like many special team officers is trained in Home Land Security to be mustered in times of emergency. I've heard nothing from him yet. Thanks once more to our first responders and prayers for the victims and their families. ~~Tink

    Texas Massacre

Texas Massacre The winds they came and then the rain and down it poured. The people thought they could remain by grace, my Lord! And on it came and came and came, the signs ignored. The bayous spread, no one to blame, we trust our Lord. The water rose and rose and rose, the streets a fjord, from flooded homes they were deposed. Please save us Lord! From roof tops plucked by valiant souls all in accord with vollunteers who played their roles. We thank you Lord! It will take years to build again, til then reward will be in all lives saved Amen! Stay with us Lord. ~~ Judi Van Gorder Swinburne's Quatrains
