Long ago, perhaps it was in March,
I heard a hiss and felt a dusty cold,
the ghostly breath of a past winter's snow
admitted by a slightly open window.
I can't remember much about the way
things were, nor fathom how they are today;
until, above, I spot up in an arch,
on the ceiling, a hair, stuck in paint,
left by a brush, if only to remind
those who remain that they were left behind.

Just MeeeWah! A brilliant observation melded with the current POV of chronic unease and confusion infusing the present moment. Nice work Tony!

thegateless.org Come on over and check out my poetry substack y'all;-) Or if your bored, head to the Zazzle store: https://www.zazzle.com/store/gateless. If you buy anything I lose a bet, so consider that before you violate the digital rules.

Yeah, well, sure that too- Some of us have been practicing the current POV of Dis-Ease long before the Pangolin was commonly known;-)

But yes, Juris, when I read the finished product I actually had the same reaction. It was something apart from my original intent. The brainwashing I mean the handwashing must be working...

Tony,  Now you surprise me, who would ever think you would commit to 30 poems in one month.  There was a time we would be lucky to see 30 poems from you in a year.   And you lead with a skillfully constructed publish worthy piece.

This is brilliant.

Hey, hey, hold on a minute!!! Never did I commit to 30 poems! There's no way I can do that! But I will do a few, and I'll click a lot of likes!  😇

Now, it's more like one poem every 3-30 years.

Thank you, Judi!

Wow! This is excellent! Did you actually write this in one day? Redolent with quiet mood, this has a sublime, highly focused, carefully crafted, universal and timeless quality.

...if only to remind

Such a poignant irony. I love the whole thing, I love it!

Yes and no. Actually, this was thrown together in about fifteen minutes from notes which had been marinating for a while yet going nowhere.

Thank you for your kind, generous reply.

Wow, you work well under pressure! Sometimes it just takes a push, from within or without, to distill something long dormant into its rightful life, I've found. In most arenas, it is not so much the amount of time, as it is the degree of concentration, that produces the desired results. This poem continues to float through my mind...

The italics are interesting, too, conveying a dreamlike quality.
