Tinker,

Yes, Tinker. Very observant.

late March winds

blow away April blossoms

See what March winds did to April blossoms! Great line.

I love them too Tink. The first one is wonderful. Well expressed. The spring is always so inspirational.

Thank you.

Tinker,

I have to admit, first I was lost in timing in these two lines,

late March winds

blow away April blossoms

I pondered on this, how could March winds blow away April blossoms? Then I thought it made sense in that because of the bad weather in March, April flowers didn't bloom. Anyway, it made me think. Something makes a reader think is not a bad thing, I think.

Best,

Lake

Thanks Lake, I was thinking of the old proverb, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb". Only this year it didn't, the lion winds kept coming into April. Today it is more a lamb day, but too late... many blossoms have already blown away.

Tinker excellent! Of course, we did have unseasonal late rain two weeks ago and more projected this weekend- with the hottest temps on record the last few days= Brush Fires- Yes CA will burn again this summer- and because of the sheer shortsighted nature of the water wars umm sorry icon_redface.gif For those not in California- rant inspired by the

Hi DC, Thanks for the added insight... don't get me started on the subject of water... it is my favorite rant... We are way behind in rainfall. I fear I may be trucking water this summer. It was 89 at my house yesterday, in April? And the winds have been horendous. I had claims for trees falling on houses and cars up until just a couple of days ago.

Hi Tink,

Vivid and evocative - your haiku certainly depicts another image of spring. How poignant the April blossoms blown away and the drought yellowed grass.
