“What do you mean by legacy?”
She asks because we can never
Afford therapy when we need it, 


“I regret, I didn’t get to know you, 

A solid epitaph.
Next year the hedge bindweed
will decorate the garden with bold

white flowers.

I like this form of poetry because it is in the spirit of my favorite Language poets but not totally inaccessible.

From a time context, it appears to me two snaps in time.  From a setting context, a point of departure and departed.  Alongside the meaning associated with the quoted words is the powerful image of a tomb surrounded by "bold white flowers".

The ambiguity is there also in the "we" as only one has a clear gender identity. The speaker's gender is not purposely identified.

I like the alliteration in "she asks because", "never/Afford therapy", and "solid epitaph".
