eclipse

Multiverse, measurements of time, families have flourished in the forest of moons. The Sun's fingers caress history. Dynasty of shadows, Queen bee dreams of ferrying of nectar, does the earth carry the moons dreams of lost civilizations.
Hurricanes, wildfires, floods, heatwaves, droughts. Family of paradigms in embryonic form.
Clan of spiders create webs in the mouths of idle prophets.
Is red the colour of the robin's dreams, the night bleeds as it is led through landscapes, rainbows turning black, kindred colours clothe
Newly born children.
African winds are like synonyms escaped from
A thesaurus, female elephant
Needs a new word for mourn.

Ordinarily I prefer to pretend that Africa is not there. It's just too much.

This poem sums up my heretofore inexpressible feelings:

Compelling work, as usual, Barry.

An interesting melange of images, each seemimg to take on a life of it's own. I would love to see each one developed by the author.

Barry, the images are brilliant, dazzling even.  I like the recurrent theme of family and descent, clans, intersecting with that of our inadequate answers or even the ability to fully articulate what we have lost.  The end feels like the first thread of French Symbolism which at its best, however given to surrealism and startling juxtaposition, always has an almost-coherent narrative element.  I
MO, the rest of the poem would benefit from a similar fleshing out in a few strategic places.

Tantalizing,
David
