Winter rains in the city

The raindrops look like little sparks of fire
As they hit the granite steps of the cathedral
Illuminated by the street lights at midnight
A gentle, watery symphony
Of glistening whispers
As the silent streets come to rest
At last
Empty and cleansed
The long black threads of tar
Reflecting a constant rhythm
Of orange, red and green
Of orange, red and green
While the city shelters and sleeps
Below veils of silver drizzle

To receive love, you have to give it...

Hi Douglas, The city street is so vividly displayed in the dark rainy night. You've taken a picture of a landscape we've all seen and ignored and illuminated it to show us it's beauty. Thank you.
