Talking. talking, talking

Talking. talking, talking,

that is all you used to want to do.

Now the times have changed,

all you do is want to cry in bed

and let the tears fall

like storm clouds that fills a river.

Oh… Oh… where did our love

seem to go wrong.

We sailed in a sailboat

upon the murky waters

of the great sea.

Don’t you see it seems

that nothing lasts forever,

but, the wind and the sea.

You used to take my hand

and hold it ever so tightly.

But that was so long ago.

Now all you do is make love

to a stranger in a foreign place to me.

I know not his name.

Why did you leave me the way you did.

When our ship was on stormy weather.

Didn’t you know I was not in control.

I was there baby for more then the ride.

I was there because I thought

I was your best friend.

Tossed like a rag doll on the ocean.

I drowned and went to heaven.

I saw my true love there

waiting for me

to cast out my own inner demons.

She was a beauty

like my eyes haven’t seen

in lifetimes

because I believe

and know reincarnation is the truth.

I broke my neck

and you left me high and dry.

My next life will be blessed

because of all the nonsense

I endured for love’s sake.

I hate being apart from you

My dear dearest Elizabeth.

You see Joyce really damaged my heart.

So you Beth will be there to cleanse it.

And Beth you will calm my stormy seas.

I will walk on the water again.

Why does everyone lack so much faith.

When all I lack is patience due to unfairness.

Like the biblical righteous Abel

my righteous blood cries aloud.

You can see the scars others have caused me.

You should be lucky I am a forgiving man.

Talking, Talking, Talking,

Is all I want to do with you.

Joyce you have moved on.

So now I am talking to Elizabeth.

This one's a journey, Victor. I like the logical progression from here:

Why did you leave me the way you did.

When our ship was on stormy weather,

to here:

I hate being apart from you

My dear dearest Elizabeth.

You see Joyce really damaged my heart
,

to here:

Joyce you have moved on.

So now I am talking to Elizabeth

... and there is no sadder expression than the one you employ here:

... I thought

I was your best friend.

I love the poem.

Aleksandra

Victor, this is wonderful poem. They first few stanzas are perfect, then in the middle is more narrative, and the ending part have again the way as in the beginning.

It's lyrical, rich with imageries and romance.

The poem gives a bunch of hope.

I enjoyed this poem very much.

I love it.
