    Crystal Vessel

The Crystal Vessel Etched upon a crystal vase these words round the base, "Beauty in things exists in the mind which contemplates them."*. Resting gently inside the vessel are long strong stems and rising above the mouth, ringed by dainty baby's breath and fanned by the forest's green lace, are tight rosy buds that have begun to ease open, to bloom passionate pastels with velvet grace, soon to fade and fall. In my mind, no denying, living things, lovely in their dying. ~~Judi Van Gorder *David Hume 1711-1776 Of Tragedy

    Sweetbriar

Sweetbriar A rose blossoms with velvet touch, its source Eurasian bred. Delicate bloom in single-ply, Sweetbriar pink and red. Fragrant buds' full tilt display - - too wild to tame in bed. Mixed in bristles, their prickly stem a harvest lightly tread. ~~Judi Van Gorder Verse Form: Sweetbriar

    Pacific Golden Way

Pacific Golden Way Locked and closed in night, full throttle in sunlight, blanketing the rise and fall of rolling hills, turning them to carpets of pirate-booty. Greedily they gobble the land from mountain to shore. Fog-horns outside the bay, trumpet the glory of California's untamed, golden, prodigal poppy. ~~Judi Van Gorder

Trilinea Form is New to Me

Here are two poems made with a form that is completely new to me. At the bottom of the post is a link that explains the form. Summer flowers Roses, vincas, hostas, bushes Some are flowers —————————————————————————————————————————— Stifled by heat Roses drip with afternoon rain Body feels beat http://www.rainbowcommunications.org/wordplay/forms/Trilinca.pdf
