goldenlangur
Out in the city of animus thin flames of rancour singe remembered names. The same old, same old game - flames and darkness then stagnation crumple the ramparts of mind. Voices muted, waters stilled. Write your letters in the sand Touch my tears I cannot shed. tonyv
This one's an unexpected and exciting divergence from your usual subject matter, Goldenlangur. The poem seems to reference something sinister like a long-standing grudge. Or, it could refer to a struggle within oneself, perhaps even with writer's block. I enjoyed the poem a lot. goldenlangur
Decided to put away my tanka hat for a bit. I'm delighted that this divergence works, Tony. Love how you've read these possible strands: The poem seems to reference something sinister like a long-standing grudge. Or, it could refer to a struggle within oneself, perhaps even with writer's block. I enjoyed the poem a lot. Tony Thank you very much. Here the read is perfect - The same old, same old game -flames and darkness then stagnation crumple the ramparts of mind. And the most poetical sound in this poem: Write your letters in the sandTouch my tears I cannot shed. GL, this is a poem what I would like to read loud. It's wonderful. I read again and again...
