dr_con
Daoist Master Every Morning The Nurse an orange tabby and I struggle He adjusts to my need to sleep longer no longer driven out-of-bed to sit zazen and go to work for slaughterhouse capitalism at 3:30 AM when the youth- fully devoted consider bed Now it is a leisurely 5:30 with full discussions with the alarm of the Golden Mean a feline's needs and the busy world of Dreams When i-Began-Koan-Practice the question is does this cat have Buddha-nature of course the answer was mu but in the liminal world he was a parasitic alien astride this cultural ghost of self clawing away-wonders-of-imagination to leave me among the myriad stars cold and absolutely alone- This morning I could not sit due to other commitments among wandering Sages and Borderlands he greeted me gently with compassion and waited patiently to be fed Done he crawled into bed with his Master and slept saying clearly I sleep all-day in order to conclusively and with love Wake-you-Up Quote thegateless.org
dedalus
Lovely and rather gentle ... a bit of a downshift from the apocalyptic, Doctor! You should ask your cat (who obviously understands you) ... What is the sound of one paw clapping? tonyv
He does seem to function as a snooze alarm. :)) And he's quite the master! No matter how early I go to bed, my body can't get used to waking up before six. Five-thirty is such an obscene hour! Perhaps he should come live with me ... ;) Tony :) Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
dr_con
Thanks Tony Ded! appreciate the feedback- The original poem made it much clearer that he is my partners familiar not mine- and despite the occasional threat to the Nurse that he is a 'Free Cat' for sale, he has adopted us and we have no say in when he breaks the deal;-) DC Quote thegateless.org
goldenlangur
Hi DC, A wonderful weaving of meditation and the mundane. I suppose you already know the answer to this: does this cat have Buddha-nature Here in my part of the world we'd say that you have a karmic link with this cat and definitely all sentient being have the Buddha nature inherent in them. Love the gentle tone and humor in this. Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
