JoelJosol Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I just got back from the US to a city devastated by a powerful typhoon in four decades. I will try to catch up on my contributions and critics this week. I am still around :-) Another dawn breaks. I rise to wait, for this curtain that hides us from each other, to be set aside. As the light exposes the horizon of our thoughts, it is my wish not to see gloom blow over. When one day you are restored in your radiance, cleared of this fog of uncertainty, I will welcome you, walk with you, with joy that belongs to pride of possession, where I will see you in a new light, your details, once again, clear, distinct, your sanity, strong like pillars of steel, unshaken by quakes nor dimmed by mist. But winds of apathy has yet blown again, coldness of heart is back, in your eyes- but I will try again. Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
dr_con Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 JJ, A powerful reflection of the dyadic cyclone of 'realtionship.' The Metaphors are powerful and well executed. Nice, nice work. Sorry to hear about the 'natural disaster' that since the US denies man's impact on Climate Change will remain a mysterious 'natural' force;-) DC Quote thegateless.org
goldenlangur Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 The cyclone as a metaphor for the storm of emotions and relationship works well. You express the vulnerability well: But winds of apathy has yet blown again, coldness of heart is back, in your eyes- but I will try again. I hope things have settled a little after the cyclone. It has been in the news here along with the deadly earthquake we've had. Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
tonyv Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'm always amazed when people rebuild after devastating natural disasters. (I especially think of the fires, earthquakes, and landslides that often threaten California.) Obviously, in these cases, the will to remain in the home location must exceed the fear of the disasters' recurring. I'm not sure what I would do, move or stay put and rebuild. Good to read you, Joel. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
Aleksandra Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 This is a good write Joel. Emotional and metaphorical. I like this one a lot. I hope you and yours are fine and safe. PS: Nice pics on fb. Alek Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
