What a Feeling

I hear you voice daydreaming

in the twilight morning hours

something tells my heart

I don't need you anymore

in my life.

I wish for magic

to tell me

what to do.

you made me a fool.

only lovers

carry this shame.

living a lie

oh what must i do

but turn to a prayer

to my god.

up high.

el elyon adoni

god god most high lord

what must i do

to end these

sleepless nights

tossing and turning.

living with you

in my life

carry me on a whisper

and a lie.

I hope for love

like a fading dream

that echoes in the dark

cascading in the rising son.

running rivers

filled by my many tears

but i don't cry no more.

I found my faith

by the cross of hope

now god is on my side.

I have joy

that fills my life

and my cup oerflows.

An interesting blend of lyric, lament, and psalm, Victor. I like the narrator's resolve --

oh what must i do

but turn to a prayer

to my god.

up high.

el elyon adoni

god god most high lord

-- and his triumphant return from despair:

but i don't cry no more.

i found my faith

by the cross of hope

now god is on my side.

i have joy

that fills my life

and my cup oerflows.

I enjoyed this one more than once.

Hi Victor,

I agree with Tony - there's a sense of emerging from the depths of despair into hope and light. There are many beautiful lines in your poem. These are particularly striking for the pathos and lyrical quality:

running rivers

filled by my many tears

you made me a fool.

only lovers

carry this shame.

Thank you.

Victor, this is very lyrical piece of poetry. I love how your verses flow and the imagery at the beginning. I am most happy that at the end the narrator expressed positive feeling.

Happy to read you again, Victor.
