douglas
the rain comes down in the night and it is beautiful the urban lights illuminate the sky creating a misty water painting buildings merging into the clouds moist watery light tender silhouettes that calm me and right now with this music in the background i feel calm and fulfilled merging into this languid liquid space soft-washed comfort all of a sudden everything seems peaceful the sapphire depth of the late evening beautifully elegant and as the song ends i am absorbed becoming one with the rhythm of the midnight rain Edited March 26, 2010 by douglas Quote To receive love, you have to give it... dedalus
Sweet! soft-washed comfort That is a line to kill for! I'd love to see you going hard instead of soft but (never know, it's always dangerous) you could fall on your arse. tonyv
Absolutely lovely and lyrical, Douglas! This is one of my favorites of yours. In addition to the cosmopolitan images ("urban lights illuminate the sky," the "buildings merging into the clouds," and the "moist watery light"), I love the alliteration in "languid liquid space." And I agree with Brendan. "Soft-washed comfort" is indeed memorable. worm
Doug, spring rain will be happy with you, if she knows how you listened to her, how you worshipped her, she will be touched, tearing. it’s pity I’ve moved into this towering building, closer to the sky, thunders but farther from the rhythm of rain, the fascinating music background. nice poem. Aleksandra
Doug, maybe I'm late to add my few words on this, but also I would say it's never late to read and share the pleasure by such a wonderful lyrical piece. I am impressed by this poem. It's elegant and musical. Well done my friend.
