dr_con
Love for it All Every buzz has its own logic and math I explained standing in the rain beneath soft dripping brugmansia trumpets and hard jointed bamboo stalks Only at depth do you see the gods why they populated the emptiness and gave human desires names like Sex and Hunger and Want and Need yesterday it came to light the old coke fiend Freud was mistranslated from the start It and I became Id and Ego A small wind shakes the long bladed leaves cold water flows down my spine See how easy it is to be rid of civilization to return to before the break when It and I were bound together blind without each other unnamed and unknown drunk and shivering with love for it all. Aleksandra
Hey, Juris. Will you ever stop surprising me :)? This amazing piece proves your ability as a writer. The populated emptiness gives a perfect metaphor for the "shadows" of today, and always I would say. In here you made very clever declaration: cold water flows down my spineSee how easy it is to be rid of civilization And the rest of the poem doesn't stop to surprise the reader and to make him think... Thank you for another exceptional read. goldenlangur
Hi DC, Another brilliant work in which you weave the natural and the abstract to ponder on what drives human impulses - the search for meaning (gods), physical and emotional fulfillment and intellectual curiosity. I love the play on Freudian thought: It and I became Id and Ego Also when It and I were bound together blind without each other This seeking of answers under the brugmansia trumpets also known as the devil's trumpets seems to allude to another searching of answers under the Bodhi tree. Is the poet being the devil's advocate? This is one of my favorites: unnamed and unknown drunkand shivering with love for it all. Great sonority throughout makes this a poem to savour. Thank you. tonyv
"Love for it all" is evident in the characters' delve and immersion into the mysteries of the physical universe, Juris. I enjoyed the display and the joie de vivre in this one.
