pawn shop
I took a swig from the newly poured beer and asked her about her rings they looked kinda cool well the first ring was a gift from her boyfriend the 2nd ring was an engagement ring the 3rd ring was her wedding ring all the rings were on the same finger A sparkle was in her eye - beaming as she explained each one to me her 2nd marriage? wow....didn't persue that She's the cutest bartender in Marlborough 33 but looks 23 happy go lucky with spunk graceful and natural all the customers cant help oogling her up and down, from their bar-stools, the entire time that they're there her eyes are what floor me deep brown and soulful I always tip her well Surprised to see her working at 11pm on a Tuesday " Dart Night " The pub's parking lot was jammed packed with cars all men except for her and the lady I walked in with her favorite cd on the jukebox? Paul Simon's greatest hits. played six songs from it her favorite 3 last I'll find out her name some day and change the title of the poem to that
goldenlangur
Hi pawn shop, You write evocatively about chance encounters, draw great details of the characters and their interaction and always end with a sense of something unresolved and wistful - so true to life experiences. The reader feels drawn into a world - physical and psychological - of the narrator. This poem is no exception in this sense. Thank you for a great read. goldenlangur Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
