On a certain day one's mind turns to reflection,

A retrospective look is born from introspection.

At year's end I bid the sixty-two before: adieu

As I begin a further span beyond my conception,

Birth daze, opaqueness, blurred in pre-perception.

Contemplative. I like the multiple meanings which can be garnered from "a further span beyond my conception."

 

But birthdays are one of those things we have to take on faith. Do we really know when we were born? I mean, does anybody actually remember? I certainly don't. We simply choose to believe what others have told us when it comes to when we were born. Happy birthday, Frank. (I formulated this reply in my head yesterday. That's why I don't say "belated." :) )
