summayya Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I remember reading this one by you Gl or was it something on the same lines Don't remember, correctly. However, new or old it does not lessen my liking for this simple but emotional tanka. Very much enjoyed, as always! Quote
goldenlangur Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Thank you summayya. You do indeed remember correctly. I posted this in the old forum. I'm very grateful that you remember it and find that the emotions come through in this tanka. goldenlangur Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.

A lots of silent prayers stays not answered... The silence is that what is going on... This short poem simply made me sad, emotional, I always have the same in head. Thank you so much for sharing this poem. It is rich with wonderful expressions. Aleksandra Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
goldenlangur Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Hello Aleksandra, You're right - it's the not knowing, the silence and endless questioning this unleashes which makes grief inconsolable: aleksandra wrote: The silence is that what is going on... Thank you for your supportive comments and understanding. goldenlangur Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
Tinker Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Hi gl, This is nice. I thought I had already commented on this but I guess I just read it in one of my lurking periods. My immediate response when reading was, the gods did answer and the answer of course was in the silence, "No". This is a beautiful expression of sadness. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
