JoelJosol
You came and sat at the breakfast table like the early sun's pretension to break away from thick clouds. I did wait closing the window, to keep out the chill, finishing my cup, until your eyes come out of hiding. Aleksandra
This poem I think reminds of some other poem from you Joel. Or it is the same one , if you shared before? However. I like it a lot. You give so beautiful imagery at the beginning with wonderful expression: You came and sat at the breakfast table like the early sun's pretension to break away from thick clouds. And the end: until your eyes come out of hiding. It is nostalgic and sensitive. And always your poems has the " start " and the " end " at the right imagery and sense. JoelJosol
Thanks, Aleks. I wrote a poem about the same setting called "Cold Breakfast". I think that's the one you recall. tonyv
Hi Joel, I like how in line five you say, "I did wait" rather than "I waited." Sounds like an affirmation ...
