Frank E Gibbard
Altamont Peace and love, such a lovely concept It lay at the heart of that strolling band Of troubadours. Free performance and Love was given, a time of liberty for all. Ill-conceived the proper level of control A no-no for non-lovers of that hard word Or the uniformed crews who wield a sword. Happier to be surrounded by unshaven guards The Stones OK'd an easy ride in biker's haven. Peace and love, such a hip hip hippy hooray For freedom love and free free ways in USA. Agents of hell blew finer hopes one awful day, Anger ascended till the time of peace was past; A vestige of rock's aspirations breathed its last. goldenlangur
Hi Frank, You've captured something of the highs and lows of this phenomenon: Love was given, a time of liberty for all..... Peace and love, such a hip hip hippy hooray For freedom love and free free ways in USA. Agents of hell blew finer hopes one awful day, Anger ascended till the time of peace was past; A vestige of rock's aspirations breathed its last. Nostalgia and also a celebration of an era and a band. Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying. tonyv
Yes, Frank, it was idiotic thing they did. I mean, what did they think would happen? Excellent concept, excellent poem.
