Aleksandra Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I love you like the worms loved the apple they ate which fell from the tree that shades this empty world. By MP Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
goldenlangur Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Hi MP, A sense of Fall from grace in the biblical Eden, a love that perhaps destroys or is forbidden comes across in this poem. The worms ate the apple because it was there and the apples? Was it to be 'plucked' in this way? Gives one quite a lot to think. goldenlangur Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
badger11 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Iconic images MP., but still wonderfully imaginative. All consuming. I've missed the inspiration of your work. Many thanks to Aleks for allowing us to share. badge Quote
summayya Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 This is remarkable. How I 've missed your work! It is wonderful how your voice comes out of your poetry. I love that! I also had the idea of the biblical Eden when I read this. We miss you around MP. Thanks Alek! Keep sharing his work! Quote

tonyv Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Striking trope, Mr. P -- ravenous love reduced to the primal in an otherwise desolate world. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
pawn shop Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Instead of 'empty'......I'd be more hopeful......perhaps use 'october'...instead.... and I'd also use a particular apple that you like.......crab apple.....? perhaps not an apple......a peach.......not bad though.... Quote
