A cruel joke indeed. I like the way the sublime delicacy of nature intersperse with the pain and loss in your poem, culminating in the poignant last stanza:

I agree with the others, [b:3618]Joel: from the title, I was expecting comedic lightheartedness, but was given a dose of anguish instead. Well done!
