How adeptly you portray the reality of one person's return to what used to be home. It's extremely sobering to read how he moves out of the way of the camera crew -- in his own home! I think the whole effect is amplified by the fact that, at parts, the piece itself has some semblance of a news clip, simply stating facts about the tragedy and its scientifically explained causes. Of course, at the end, tradition endures with the lighting of the butter lamps. Super work, as always, Goldenlangur!

Hi Tony,

I appreciate the care and thought with which you've read this piece.

I particularly like how you picked this:

It's extremely sobering to read how he moves out of the way of the camera crew -- in his own home!

Yes, indeed. One of the reactions to tragedy is sometimes dealing with it in a factual way helps the paralyzing pain:

I think the whole effect is amplified by the fact that, at parts, the piece itself has some semblance of a news clip, simply stating facts about the tragedy and its scientifically explained causes.

A small gesture of sympathy across the seas - very small gesture, given the continuing devastation that Japan is still dealing with:

Of course, at the end, tradition endures with the lighting of the butter lamps.

Very generous of you, Tony: :D

Super work, as always,

Thank you.
