dedalus Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) There they are, not much you can say about them, really, sort of hanging over your eyes, a lasting lingering joke of facial hair in which lads and lassies can share some grinning communion. There’s no real point to them, yet to be without them, God help us, is to leave yourself open to laughter. Ladies clip and shave and accentuate, gentlemen take a more casual view, but these silly little hairy arcs survive. What are they for? Nobody knows. You look strange without them. Benjamin Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Unusual and most entertaining. A plethora of facial expressions incomplete without them, would alter conversation greatly. For one thing, we'd all have to say exactly what we mean. :-) Ben Edited June 2, 2011 by Benjamin Quote
Frank E Gibbard Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Out of the corner/ea of an eye I just saw the prompt to this post: "Replying to eyebrows" thanks Bren for innocently causing a hilarious moment. Anyway, a lightness of touch to this whimsical work made it well worth the quick read. It would be otiose to bang on about your conceit here (what's their point eh those eyebrows thingees?) you know as do we all about the sweat absorbtion - I suppose Nature's purpose, some would say God's. A touch Milliganesque I felt (probably just me - SM being a hero) that's a plus BTW therefore. Regards, Frank. Edited June 2, 2011 by Frank E Gibbard Quote

Rea Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Hello Dedalus I think your eyebrows are there to protect your eyes from dust particles, etc, etc, anyone know, when eyebrows turn grey, as I have noticed, people with grey hair, but dark eyebrows. I like the poem, light and thought provoking, with well defined eyebrows! Ha! Best wishes Rea Quote

Aleksandra Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Ha, this made me smile, Bren, and relaxed a bit :D. Almost hard to believe that you wrote this :D - you, who always write such a profound poetry. But I am sure you did, and I am glad you did some relaxation in your poetical spirit :). Great one!
