Frank E Gibbard
Intro: In suburban Liverpool L18 is this thoroughfare Made famous by the Beatles' eponymous song; Replete with allusion to people and places there, And McCartney's music, just made to sing along. Middle fourteen: A wry melange was co-created A Beatle's hang-out recreated Returning to their earlier fields To iterate what memory yields. Salted with local Scouser slang Few may ken, a code they sang: "Four of fish" recalls a fishy meal, "Finger pies" being about a feel. It tells a sort of Mersey fairy tale Upon a wacky Macca wacker trail. Characters named by occupation, In yer actual Liverpudlian location; Banker, barber, fireman, and nurse, Doing odd deeds in dead gear verse. Coda: Paul immortalised the whole area of Penny Lane; A barber's shop, a shelter, a fire station all still remain. Tourists visit like Abbey Road, Beatles nostalgia reigns, Meanwhile wack, in our ears and our eyes it's ... Still bloody pouring rain .... in Penny Lane. Benjamin
Thanks for this Frank. Culture clash! I well recall how many early rockers hated the Beatles songs for having more than three chords. B. :icon_sunny:

Larsen M. Callirhoe
this auora was created before i was born. still loved by me all the same. three cheers for frank for making something of past history current affair. i will awaus dg the beatles and then the beach boys. music so easy to do but it takes the charima of a hulk hogan type personality to sell. and i couldn't answer that planation why either. i really wonder why something like said mentioned groups didn't pop up a few years after the radio concept caught fire. thanks for rehash the rememberable history lesson. may that moment alsos be etched in the memory lore of the world as a unforgettable moment in the world. victor Quote Larsen M.
