JoelJosol Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 This is a good, free course. You can download the MP3 lectures or videos or HTML from this URL http://open.yale.edu/courses/english/moder...y/sessions.html Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
Aleksandra Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hey Joel, thank you a lot for sharing this link. It is so useful and rich site. I am visiting still in this moment and I'm listening and reading in same moment about Robert Frost, and for me it is so useful all of this, in all ways. Because it helps me to learn about poetry side, about poet's lives, but also at same time I have practice, a train with my English language, I'm listening and reading, so it helps me a lot with right pronunciation. So, for me this is a real course. Thank you Joel . You did well, with sharing this. Aleksandra Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
Tinker Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Joel, Thank you so much for this. It is wonderful. I have taken many courses on-line, none as in depth and polished as this one... I am so excited about taking this course. I can't wait to begin. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
Tinker Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 added note: Watching the video of the Introduction, I kept wanting to see the pictures that Professor Hammer was pointing at, so of course I went on line to seek them out. I couldn't find them all but did some. I had just read several poems from Yeats' The Wind Among the Reeds yesterday. I often go to http://www.bartleby.com/ which has a different poem to read each day, yesterday's just happened to be a poem from The Wind Among the Reeds. I got carried away and kept reading more of the poems from that book. Great timing. I will post the book cover with a couple of poems from the book in Favorite Poets. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
