The photographic wind left my dream

it took my neighbor as its new theme,

it trapped him in a series

of images intimating his worst theories

the photographs blurred into a film chapter

playing in a theater

the wind blew through the screen

reaching me in the seats

i became part of the films scene

and turned into the chapter's streets,

he walked the streets and ended

up in the theater

he glimpsed himself shouted

and turned off the films projector

Pinhead

"Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends.

There is a secret song at the center of the world, Joey, and its sound is like razors through flesh."

Joey

"I don't believe you."

Pinhead

"Oh come, you can hear its faint echo right now. I'm here to turn up the volume.

To press the stinking face of humanity into the dark blood of its own secret heart."

"There's a starving beast inside my chest
playing with me until he's bored
Then, slowly burying his tusks in my flesh
crawling his way out he rips open old wounds

When I reach for the knife placed on the bedside table
its blade reflects my determined face
to plant it in my chest
and carve a hole so deep it snaps my veins

Hollow me out, I want to feel empty"

"Sky turns to a deeper grey

the sun fades by the moon

hell's come from the distant hills

tortures dreams of the doomed

and they pray, yet they prey

and they pray, still they prey"

Quite interesting, Eclipse. An instance of voyeurism that has gone too far? Perhaps it has backfired?

PS -- I'm sure A-C's reply was meant as a compliment, as in "It's cool."

Hi Eclipse, to me this poem explores the perils of opening up to people you want to know better. It is the only way to find new friends, but it can backfire: when this emergent person sees himself/herself through your eyes, it can be treacherous ground. Your limited knowledge may completely misrepresent him/her, or at least his/her own self assessment. Or you may have intuited rightly, but it is too soon, too intrusive to share it.

And I may have it all wrong (perilous!), but like this piece.

Dave flunks the Eclipse mid-term. Darn. I still like the thing.
